What we collect when you enquire

The enquiry form asks for your name, your company, an email address, an optional telephone number, which of our lines you are asking about, and your brief. All of it is what you chose to type.

What our server records alongside it

Every request to a website carries the address it came from. We store that address, the approximate location our host derives from it, and the browser identification string your browser sends. We keep it for one reason: to tell a genuine trade enquiry from an automated or fraudulent one before a member of staff replies to it.

• IP address
• Approximate city, region and country, derived from that address
• Browser and operating system identification (the user-agent string)
• The date and time you accepted this policy

The location is a rough guess made from the address, not a position from your device. We do not ask for or receive precise location, and a VPN or an office network will commonly place a real buyer somewhere they are not.

Cookies, and what happens if you decline them

We use no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. The banner asks about one thing: whether we may record how you arrived — the site that referred you, any campaign tag in the link, and how long you spent before writing to us.

• Decline, and none of that is recorded. The enquiry form works exactly the same.
• Accept, and it is stored with your enquiry so we know which of our efforts brought you here.
• Your answer is kept in your own browser's storage, not on our servers.

Signing in to the staff console sets a session cookie. That is a private area for our own team and is not part of the public site.

What we do with it

We answer your enquiry. We use it to prepare a specification and a price, and to keep a record of what was asked for and what we said. We do not sell it, we do not share it for anyone else's marketing, and nobody outside the client team and the bench working on your order has any reason to see it.

How long we keep it

An enquiry is kept while it is live and for as long afterwards as we may reasonably need to refer back to it — a repeat order is often years after the first conversation. Ask us to remove yours and we will.

Your choices

Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you would rather we did not keep the address and location described above, say so in your enquiry and we will remove them from your record.
